When the battle was over Dace returns to Ossus with other Jedi to contemplate on appropriate courses of action to deal with the Krath. On Ossus, Dace took on the responsibility of testing out a new starfighter, the Star Saber, and was actually almost killed in a test run. Soon, Dace and the other Jedi were given permission to run a rescue mission to rescue Ulic from the Krath and his attempt to infiltrate it by learning its secrets. Flying to Cinnagar in four fighters, Dace and the Jedi attacked and made their way into the tower where Ulic was located, however, once there, Ulic made it abundantly clear he knew what he was doing and sent the Jedi away so he could continue his plan.

Six months later, the threat from the galaxy had still not been extinguished. Dace Diath and his fellow Jedi had traveled to Coruscant to speak before the Galactic Senate. Coruscant was then attacked by Mandalorian warriors under the direction of Ulic, and Dace was called upon to help the other Jedi fend off the attack. The battle didn't last for long, for the attack was just a distraction to allow Ulic time to make his way to the Republic War Room, however, Dace and the other Jedi managed to make their way to the war room and captured and arrested Ulic. At Ulic's trial, Exar Kun made an attempt to free him, and Dace was witness to the epic battle the ensued in which Exar Kun cut down his own master, Vodo-Siosk Baas, resutling in Exar Kun and Ulic's escape.

Some time later, Dace returned to Ossus and was present there when young Jedi Knights, under the influence of Exar Kun's Sith spell, murdered their Masters. At a meeting to discuss these turn of events, Dace and the other Jedi are informed of an attack at spacestation Kemplex Nine in the Cron Cluster led by Krath leader Aleema. Dace, Qrrl Toq, and Shoaneb Culu volunteer to lead the fleet that will launch a counterattack. Once arrived at Kemplex Nine, Dace and the Jedi are eager to engage the Krath. As Dace and the Jedi get closer and closer to the Cluster, Aleema uses powerful Sith magic to rip the core from one of the stars in the Cluster. Dace's ship is bombarded with gamma rays, x-rays, and ionized fire. The explosion ends Dace's life and he passes into the Force as one of the galaxy's most noble Jedi.
